Worst part about writing romance? Seriously?
The romance part when you’re single or tired or harried. . . Honestly, It’s a little like being married. There are just those days where I look at that keyboard and say “not tonight. I have a headache.” And I don’t. Have a headache.
I just don’t want to write it. I don’t want to feel what I need to in order to put those words on the page. Writing romance novels isn’t like reading them at all.
I call it brain candy when I settle in with a Gena Showalter or a Christa Maurice. It’s my break. When I’m writing it, it’s a whole different experience. There’s no break there. So, I’m coming off a five day headache, and I guess I needed it. The work is flowing a little better. It helps that I have pie.
