When we decide to publish our books, I know we’re supposed to become some kind of guru, but I haven’t. The marketing side of the business just kills my buzz.
The buzz I get from writing down my stories.
Yeah, that buzz.
It’s like flying when it all comes together. So, I’ve decided to turn my attention back where it belongs, the writing. Time to play the long game, and, with that in mind, I’m going to try my hand at blogging a bit more creatively. Try being the operative word.
So I had this brainstorm that I’m going to let my books take over my blog some days. A character here and there may pop by, and we’ll see how it goes. I mean they might suck at it. You don’t know.
You don’t.
Mechs are easy compared to writing. You know it, and I know it. And how much harder can it be to kill a bad guy than to write a blog post, I ask you. Point, aim, shoot; that’s all they do. Me, I’m over here pulling hair out to try and make a sentence sound like it’s smarter than a fifth grader. That is hard.
Good luck, Jolie. You aren’t the only one who hasn’t figured out the marketing morass.
